Frequently Asked Questions About Strathy

So, a lot of people have questions about Strathy, who we are, why we're here and so on, but many of these questions are the same. So, before you rush to email us with your question, only to spend ages twiddling your thumbs waiting for a response, have a look here, you might just find the answer you're looking for.

01

What is Strathy?

Strathy was founded in mid-2009 as a nation on The NationStates game. However it quickly evolved into a micronation as the founder, J H Whittle read more into the subject. It is currently a territorial, political simulation, micronation located in Scotland. Strathy currently works to promote Socialist Ideals in The Micronational world and has ties with other micronations and organisations.

02

Can I be a part of it?

Sure, we have citizenship applications on the website, if you want to become part of Strathy and help run her or just want to become a citizen, you are most welcome to to that. Just fill out the form and we'd be happy to here from you.

03

Can I live in Strathy?

I'm afraid that the short answer to that is no. We currently don't have the room, supplies or infrastructure to support anymore people in Strathy. Further to that, we cannot grant visas to live in the UK. Unfortunately all requests for residency, at least for the time being, will have to be rejected.

04

I have a micronation, can we be allies?

Strathy is currently open to diplomatic relations of all degrees of formalities, from having a chat and mutually recognising one and other, to formal treaties of recognition and cooperation. We currently do do not, however, engage in military alliances or trade agreements. If you wish to contact us about diplomatic relations, please use the contact page or email us directly at strathygov@hotmail.co.uk

05

Your Politics seem a little complex for a tiny nation, don't they?

You could say that, I suppose, but the politics of Strathy are formulated to work on the scale of a full size nation. Strathy is, for all intents and purposes, primarily a political simulation. We test out various ideals and policies to create what is, in our view, the perfect socialist government.

06

A Communist Micronation, Really?

Well yes, The Founder, J H Whittle, is, after all, a Marxist and current Party Secretary of The Contemporary Marxist Party. If you don't like communism, then go elsewhere - there are plenty of other micronations out there.
