Branches of The Strathan Government
People's Commissariat
The People's Commissariat comprises of of The People's Commissar and The Vice People's Commissar. Collectively they make up the Heads of State and Government

They are the elected representatives of the people, who have shown extreme dedication to their country and their people throughout their time in government. They attend all state government meetings and all state and foreign functions.
The Commissariat
The Commissariat is the executive branch of government, comprising of the commissars for various departments such as health, education, transport, etc.

Commissars are members of the various government departments, elected from those departments to run the infrastructure and vital systems of the nation as a whole. They are not members of The Council, rather workers from their departments.
The Council of Reps.
The Council of Representatives makes up the legislative body of the national government. It comprises representatives from the three republics, elected by their citizens.

The Council of Representatives vote on all bills to be passed into national law and are responsible for making sure that the voices and concerns of their republics' citizens are heard in the national government and that they are acted upon suitably.
The Republic Councils
Each republic within Strathy is considered to be semi-autonomous and is governed largely by a devolved council run by citizens of the respective republic.

The Republic Council votes on matters concerning the republic itself and on matters not reserved for state control. As Strathy believes in bringing government to its people, most powers are devolved to these administrations. They are also responsible for interacting with their representatives at The Council of Representatives.
Communal Councils
About as local as government gets in Strathy. Each Republic is divided into a number of communes with a council representing the commune.

These communal councils deal with the little things that really affect the local people. They are also responsible for interacting with the Republic Council. They deal with local issues such as roads, local school management, bin collecting, etc.
The Supreme Court
The judiciary body of Strathy lies here, in the Supreme Court of The Strathan Republics. The court, founded by constitution has jurisdiction over all conflicts between government branches.

The SCSR is made up of one supreme court judge from each republic, in office for no more than 15 years. They are responsible for all high level cases and appeals against national laws and bills passed by government.
